Finding Joy in Your Journey

After the Presidential Election ended and the new US President was chosen (Donald J. Trump), many were disheartened, cried, and were literally in shock that #Trump won the election. I was, too, but not in the sense that you think. A New Yorker, who seriously did not take to heart that he was going to ever win this election, who was fed up with both parties in Washington, knew that he would be the game-changer in Washington. But, most importantly, when he realized that his chances were incredible to win, like every New Yorker, he didn’t quit. Trump knew that he could never quit, but had to see the race to the end.

Right after the election, Steve Harvey said, “Now is the time to jump off the edge of the cliff, and embrace your dreams. Believe in yourself, get focused, continue to plan, but you have to execute your plan.” Steve Harvey is so right. Regardless of how the Presidential Election turned out, what are #YOU going to do to impact, change, and elevate your life to success?

Steve sat down with #Oprah and he had asked her what was her first “Jump moment.” She told him her first “Jump moment” was when she left Baltimore, MD to move to Chicago; which many told her that she would fail. NOT!!! And her second “Jump moment” was starting her network OWN and ignored ALL the nay-sayers. She avoided reading the negative press because it was generating Bad Energy, hurtful, and she knew it was definitely NOT of #God.

Since I have discovered my Good Energy, I continue to work at staying deeply rooted in Good Energy, and it is challenging. Why? Because you surround yourself on a daily basis with people (family, friends, co-workers, etc.) who are operating in Bad Energy unbeknownst to them, which will trigger you to react to the Bad Energy. It simply is not good or healthy for your Good Energy and spirit. I have been struggling at trying to keep my mind focused on staying in the realm of #positive energy, because I felt that I kept missing the mark (or hearing God’s voice).

What did I do next? I #prayed to God, sat in my prayer closet, and He revealed to me: “Be Still, Be Still, Be Still (3x, a number that is very important to me, representing the Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost)) and know that I AM GOD.” Wow, I thought, I received the message loud and clear. A week before this revelation, I was home and there was nothing on TV to watch. I was working on a client’s audits, but my spirit was craving for nourishment. I turned on my #Amazon #FireStick, went directly to #YouTube, typed in Oprah, and guess what I found?

Oprah Speaks at Essence 2016 Festival.” My Spirit #JUMPED for #JOY the anticipation was great, and I immediately grabbed a pen and had my journal ready. I was #focused, glued to the TV, and was ready so I thought to myself. The 45-minute segment took me 2 hours to watch because I would replay what she was saying a thousand times. Especially, the vital points about how you really succeed with God’s dream for you. It blew my mind, inspired this post, and clearly showed me how God showed up and out in my life on that day–and moving forward.

“God works through our #FAITH and not our Fear”

First and foremost, you have to BE STILL (repeat that 3 times) and know that God’s got you and He will lead and direct your path. Meaning: stop being anxious, operating on “auto-pilot”, stop what you are doing and trying to figure out the executed plan. It’s not your job to figure it out; that’s God’s job to do it for you. When we seriously learn to STOP making decisions based on the Cause and Effect factor; and learn to Be Still, Hear God’s Voice (the positive energy), and then react based on what God advised you to do, then you will see how your plan of action will be successful and executed in the right order.

Why? Because He is ordering your steps, creating good order (vital and very important to your plan of action), and will ALWAYS bring or put something in your path that will enhance, elevate, or complement what it is that you are trying to do, accomplish, or get done. Trust me, this is true as I am currently experiencing it right now. When you are tapped into His energy pool, God will help and move your dream and/or project along in the right order and direction, with the right message and people. But if you are on auto-pilot, you will miss the mark because you did not hear God’s voice. He will put people, or things, in your path that will confirm that this is what you “really” needed to get from point A to B.

Trust me, I am witnessing it right now in my life and am humbly grateful that He had to do an immediate intervention in order for me to hear His voice, His plan of action in my life, so that I can get my blessing and the favor that He has for me. Thank you, Lord!!! I had to take heed and listen, and hear His Voice (I’ll tell you how that was revealed as well), which I was struggling with during meditation. But because God is beyond #AMAZING, He literally handed me the message that I had to hear; to hear His voice.

Right after my morning meditation session with God today, I did hear him tell me to spend some time with my Bible App, and tap into my neglected Plans that I have not been committed to doing.  But this morning, I opened Worship Changes Everything. It’s a 12-day devotional by Darlene Zschech. I opened Day 6 which was dated June 26, and WOW!!!! She started saying when you draw nearer to God, He will draw nearer to you. At that point, I’m flabbergasted because God was giving me what I needed to draw closer to Him. My spirit started jumping for joy, I became a sponge and was hungry to feed my spirit with what I was about to learn.

Darlene was saying, learn to commune with God in EVERYTHING on a continuous basis. Form a habit of conversing with God continuously, refer ALL that I am doing, trying to execute or accomplish, MUST be discussed with God first. She talked about building a “Strong Spiritual Muscle” so that you are tapped into God’s good energy to which you want to be unconsciously connected, because you want it to become the norm.

Oprah talking to the audience on what God has done for her and what He will do for you: “I want you to live the Dream. And it’s not because I’m special. It’s because I was obedient to The Call of the Dream”

Psalm 139 says, He hemmed me in (this is so powerful), behind and before me, laying His hand upon me gently. Darlene’s interpretation was that “God’s presence defines us, sets us apart, strengthens us, penetrates our very being, and brings joy and strength as we draw nearer (James 4:8).” So when we learn to talk to God constantly, conversing with Him, building a better communicative relationship with Him, we are drawing closer to Him. Building a Strong Spiritual Muscle, as well. Hearing His voice loud and clear, ordering our steps, and helping us execute the plan that He had in store for us is bring us closer to seeing OUR DREAMS come true.

How do we build Strong Spiritual Muscle?

  • Be diligent in communicating with God continuously
    • We will feel His Love inwardly and outwardly, exciting us without any indifference
  • Form the habit of communicating with God in EVERYTHING
    • When we draw nearer to God, He draws nearer to us.
  • Refer EVERYTHING to God

In conclusion, God’s Dream for you is at your fingertips, right in front of you. You no longer have to fret or feel flustered on your journey because God is ordering your steps, because you have tapped into His realm, His energy, and His Love. Oprah said (this is VERY IMPORTANT), “Stop fighting, pushing against, disallowing against, resisting against, and trying to tell the Creator of the Universe, Forces of Divine Intelligence what ‘I am supposed to do’.  And get STILL and know for sure what His Dream, The Dream is for you.”  Remember that “you are the master of your faith and the captain of your soul.” So with a #joyous #heart, #mind, and #spirit enjoy it because God’s favor and blessings are about to be revealed to you.

Note: “#Invictus” was the poem recited by the late Nelson #Mandela while he was imprisoned for 27 long years. This poem gave him courage and strength to endure those miserable years inside a matchbox like cell,” states Krishanth Arunasalam.

Loving Self from “A to Z”

I AM MEand I am not defined by others opinions and beliefs about me. In order for me to form a perfect union of tranquility, peace, joy, hope, love and happiness, I need to recognize that I can’t be everything to everyone and not rob me of Me Time. I have the power to live whichever life I choose, without offending anyone. I will work to promote and encourage SELF and NEVER GIVE UP—to keep hitting that rock until it cracks, ignore the nay-sayers, and know that I am in control of my choices and free will. And I also recognize that my success cannot be defined by anyone else; but needs to be based on what I believe, which is MY truth.

Loving our Dads

“I have never been a material girl. My father always told me never to love anything that cannot love you back.” – Imelda Marcos

I truly love seeing a man cry joyous, happy tears because it shows his strength, vulnerability and the confidence that he possesses. When you can witness firsthand how his kids or spouse tell him how much they love, appreciate and are grateful to have him in their lives, and that they are proud of the man that he is… he tells himself, it’s ok to cry (get the tissue ready).

When we honor our dads, we are telling them that through all their struggles, sweat and hidden tears we love you dad. That the one true sacrifice that you made for us was to love us unconditionally, keep a roof over our head and food on the table; and you did it with love. Thank you, Dad, as I will always love and miss you. Rest In Peace (1991).

#Happy Father’s Day to my loving dad, may you rest in peace (I Love You), to all the dads, step-dads and awesome uncles who stepped in when we lost or needed a dad’s love, like my Uncle Bobby and Uncle Nabisco! Much Love!!!

Love the Leap of Faith

OMG Friday 5.13.16

#TGIF   What a week I have had, but I’m truly blessed to have had one. I’m back in the grind with a work assignment, and ever so grateful that money will soon flow again. Being unemployed in today’s economy is a travesty, seriously.

If you are truly tired of the monotony of the daily work “grind,” then you seriously have to think about taking the #JUMP. The JUMP is all about taking that Leap Of Faith and believing wholeheartedly that your JUMP will not be in vain—because something great has the potential of happening. But if you don’t make an effort or even try, how will you ever know?

Make the Jump 5.13.16

I learned recently by reading Steve Harvey’s Act Like a Success…Think Like a Success that Passion is not your Gift. Passion fuels your desire and feeds your Gift. Your Gift exists because of you—it is not designed by a job title—and travels everywhere you go. “Your job is NOT your gift, but probably a place that utilizes your gift,” Steve tells us.

Shape Your World 5.13.16

What I did learn after reading a segment of Steve’s book, which really surprised me, is that my Gift is not my talent. Pursuant to Steve, “What we do well sometimes blocks us from finding out what we do great. I think of talents as the lesser to one’s gift. Talents can be learned while a gift is inherent. Your gift cannot be studied by another and then performed at the same proficiency. However, our talents often lead us to exercising our gift.

With that said, I now have to find out what my AMAZING Gift is—which I honestly thought I knew what it was. Anywho, I am often referred as a “closer”, a “problem-solver”, one who knows how to bring things together and get the job done. Okay, then how do I sum that up as to what my gift really is? Stay tuned, and I will let you know.

What I do know for certain is that I do have an AMAZING Gift that I will share with the world one day.

Love Sees the Vision

The percentage of Americans who can see themselves starting a business in 2015 is 51% up from 42% back in 2013. – 2015 Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report

949d41090d6fcfc2037abc1b04ae19d4

The March issue of Money magazine focused on Being Your Own Boss; as the number of people doing so (and wanting to) have increased greatly after the banking industry collapsed (an excellent read). I’ve taken the plunge; I’m self-employed (a.k.a. an entrepreneur) because I was ready to take the jump by having the Faith that my parachute will open. I’m in the planning and development stages for my Lovin Self website for the sale of my Essential Bath Salts (Cashmere PetalsFresh Peonies, Warm Orchid & Calming Lemongrass) and Soothing Bath Teas (The Nile, Exotic Amber, & Cleopatra), of which all 7 of those luxurious aromas are ready for customers to enjoy, and I’m WORKING toward and PRAYING that my website will be ready to launch at month end.

I’m READY now, yet there is SO MUCH that goes into launching a website. For example, the SSL Certificate that protects your customers’ sensitive information over the Internet is extremely important, and equally important is having the right person to do the job. The Privacy & Returns policy must be on point, because people are entrusting you with their vital information, and that is something a good business owner can’t take lightly. Another checklist item is making sure that the SEO, which stands for “search engine optimization,” is in place and operating. Applying SEO aspects to your webpage “is the process of getting traffic from the ‘free,’ ‘organic,’ ‘editorial,’ or ‘natural’ search results on search engines, this cost is very important to the traffic that flows to your website.”

Having said all of that, I am very proud of what LovinSelf.com is shaping up to look like; especially, our monthly newsletter being created by my AMAZING & AWESOME editor Melissa Swenka who rocks every time and keeps me sounding intellectually savvy. My web developer and I are still working on improving and ironing out minor glitches.

The great news is that my 2BMe – “To Know Me… Is To Love Me… Just Because” – jewelry collection will be featured on my website, and in production, hopefully, before Mother’s Day. As an additional part of the 2BMe line, I will be offering silver-plated necklaces and bracelets for purchase, once we launch, with bracelet sizes 7 inches for ‘Tweens and 8 inches and 10 inches for bigger wrists.

Oops… I’m getting sidetracked…

Getting back to the March issue of Money magazine, because I’m a new entrepreneur myself, I feel like they could have done more in depth reporting on the “Ultimate Guide To Flying Solo” because startups are on the rise, and many Americans are taking that leap of Faith and launching their own business.

If you are still uncertain or don’t know what to do or where to begin, reading as much as you can on the subject (I suggest starting with Steve Harvey‘s book Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success) is an excellent way to start. But, most importantly, whatever your idea might be, do your research, research, research.

Money magazine recommends the following:

Step 1 – Figure out if your brilliant idea is a viable business – How many people want your product/service (your idea).

Step 2 – Put some real numbers on your idea – Figure out what to charge potential customers.

Step 3 – Plot out how to fund your launch – It does take money, but not millions, to launch your idea.

Step 4Protect your own financial future – We have to stop blaming Wall Street, “Corporate,” or the Banks when we continue working in their businesses; you have the power create your own. Ditch their rules and regulations by figuring out how to solve the problem and not be a part of it. You need to find YOUR solution and TAKE THE JUMP.

Step 5 – Make the most of Year One – Focus, plan, and continue to execute. Learn from life’s lessons and failures, and then regroup and be consistent.

My recommendation for Step 6 – NEVER GIVE UP!! Make determination, passion, and confidence your best friends.

Love Says Jump

“I was tired of the way I was living. I was tired of going nowhere. I was sick and tired of being poor. I was completely worn out by poverty.” —Steve Harvey, Chapter 1, Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success

Happy #MindfulMonday! If there is a day that will remind you of how sick and tired you are for not making a change in your life and doing something to improve it, it’s Monday. Am I right?! So, it is on a Monday that I decided to share some inspiring thoughts I had the pleasure of finding within this 6 minute video, which has only catapulted my drive to succeed and continue to forge ahead with my goals of making the Lovin Self brand a household name. If you are not happy with your current situation or circumstance… who is going to be the first to change it? Your neighbor next door, the postal worker, or your imaginary friend (or, worse, an imaginary enemy)? Who is so tired of being the blame for your lackluster performance in the game of life.

Like many who have taken the #JUMP against all the odds and made it through–Joy Mangano, Oprah, Bill Gates, Steven Spielberg, Steve Jobs, and Michael Jordan–you need to be willing to take the Jump or Leap of Faith that can change your life for the better. I learned a very long time ago that if you want anything to change that affects you, you need to be a part of the SOLUTION and not a part of the PROBLEM. Yes, the rich keep getting richer and the Middle Class has been displaced. So what do you do about it? Do you sit and whine, complain that it’s unfair? Or you could jump on the back of that runaway horse (The Kentucky Derby is fast approaching) and grab the reins and ride your now-winning horse to the finish line like Penny Tweedy (my #Heroine for tomorrow’s post) did in 1973. Her horse Secretariat won the Triple Crown!

“So many people are missing their way in life because they are afraid to sign the lease on their gift.” – Steve Harvey

Let me explain…

A lease is a legal document outlining the terms under which one party (Tenant) agrees to rent property from another party (Landlord). Your “Gift” is the Tenant, and you are the Landlord who is ready for the deal to happen; but you refuse to sign the “legal” contract because you are afraid to make the commitment to SELF.

Every person that exists in this world does have a gift or talent; as I mentioned prior, here are a few more people who have embraced their talents and enjoy the rewards: Rihanna, Beyonce, Mark Zuckerberg, Kim and Kanye.

The world is changing so fast that the Internet can’t keep up; but yet it is a tool that you can utilize to charge-up your career goals and your gift by offering you a platform from which you can #JUMP into the arena of executing your life’s dream. I have taken the plunge, so can you.

Love the Masterpiece

I still fall on my face sometimes and I
Can’t color inside the lines ’cause
I’m perfectly incomplete
I’m still working on my masterpiece

 Jessie J – Masterpiece Lyrics | MetroLyrics

#HappyHumpDay!!! This week may have been a challenge, stressful, or even good; but the great thing is that you are near the end of the week, hopefully preparing for your weekend. You may have pissed someone off, because you’re not perfect or may have offended someone because of who you are. But you can #STOPTHEMADNESS. Even though who you are may be offensive to some, their reactions to your life are not within your control. You only (and always) have control over yourself and your reactions; please remember that. You can’t let someone else’s opinion of your life stop you from living it.

Steve Harvey is someone who I truly respect and admire because he keeps it real. I wanted to share with you this #AMAZING video where he speaks about “You Have To Jump.” Simply mind-blowing, and I will start my week off with it for #MindfulMonday. The more that we put off things that we can do now, or start now, will change our life path and decisions. So when we change our mind, we can change our life.

OK, I keep beating this dead horse, but I have to be honest in what has been fueling my energy: how the 2008 Banking Industry went down. How it was orchestrated, who paid for it (homeowners), and the result of it (the 1%ers got richer). OK, now what? If you don’t like your current situation or circumstance, try to change it. If you don’t like how the Fortune 500 is doing business, start your own. Complaining, being disgusted, and not being apart of the solution automatically makes you apart of the problem.

Listen, I was there. I always had a job to maintain my life, take care of my daughter, put her in the best of private schools to give her the advantage that I didn’t have. Now, I am in a position to work for SELF; and there is definitely no turning back. Losing my job was the best thing that happened to me because it made me React, Regroup, and Affect change in my life for the betterment of ME.

“Life is a journey, not a destination.” – Susan L. Taylor

The message behind this: #WORKFORSELF!!! Yes, it appears that we hate on the 1%ers, but make the choice and do something different so you too can make life-changing decisions in your life that can’t be affected by decisions that the 1%ers make.

“You have not seen the best of me,” says Jessie J, so step out on faith, and #JUMP like Mr. Harvey said. In my world, EVERYONE is held accountable for what happens in your life based on your life choices.
